One early morning I was out at the Rockland Harbor hoping to catch a nice sunrise. As I waited for the sun to come up I was looking for things to shoot and told myself not to waste my time because there was no good light yet. That’s when I looked up and noticed all these birds on the power wire. There was just enough light to turn the birds into silhouettes, but not too much to blow out the sky. The conditions were perfect to shoot this scene and I ended up loving the result. This photo got published in a recent Maine Media Workshops catalog as a double-page spread.
